The first few days of your campaign are very important, in fact data shows that campaigns that reach the first 30% in the initial week of their campaign are more likely to succeed. One way to ensure your campaign gets off to a great start is by seeding initial early donors.
Segment your inner circle which could include very engaged donors, friends, family, and inner network of your colleagues. Let them know before you launch the campaign that you will need their support early. On the day of, remind them to give to the campaign that day (even $5 - $10 helps!) and share it with 3 - 5 of their close friends.
It’s good to have some donations seeded before you send out a large email and social blast early on. If you have any individual donors or corporate sponsors closely tied to your cause, asking them to offer matching for the first $1,000 to $5,000 amount of donations can help build that early momentum.
As you continue outbound communications during the campaign, remember that you can also go back to initial donors and ask them to share specific calls to actions with their networks too.
