Once someone gives to your campaign, that doesn’t mean they aren’t paying attention anymore - in fact these donors can become your biggest champions. Keep them engaged throughout the entire campaign and leverage their support to reach their networks, widening the pool of your potential donors. There are three key ways you can do this:
- Respond to donations - When someone donates, providing an immediate acknowledgement gives them instant gratification. You can do this directly in your comment moderations in the dashboard. You can also publicly thank someone via Twitter or Facebook if you know their handle.
- Campaign updates - You shouldn’t hesitate to send campaign updates to your donors. This can be done in the dashboard and will post to your campaign page while also sending an email to donors. This is a great opportunity to share some stories of impact, photos from the team or clients, or just share a genuine note of gratitude. To include a call to action, asking your donors to share a tweet or Facebook post is a soft way to re-engage.
- Milestones - You will have many opportunities to celebrate along the campaign. Set mini-milestones that you can invite your donors to celebrate with you (“We hit the halfway mark!”) or other positive news from your organization. Campaign updates and milestones should be aligned as you plan your communications strategy before you launch the campaign.
