Posting updates for the donors really help build trust with donors and strengthen the power of the platform for all the members. We appreciate you taking the time to provide this information and update your member's donors.
When a member redeems their donations for goods or services it is best if they post an update for their donors to maintain transparency and show the donors the impact they are making. We find that posting meaningful updates that tell how the member used the donation in a beneficial way is a great way to show this impact to donors and increases future donations for that member as well as others on the platform.
Though the worksheet may seem intimidating and has a number of questions, the key thing we want to draw out from them is the two core basics:
1. What did they get/purchase?
2. How is this going to help them move forward?
Examples:
Weak update:
"Thank you for this, now I can eat."
Strong update:
"Thank you, with your support I can purchase food to sustain myself. The line at the soup kitchen is always long and takes up lots of time that I can be using to search for jobs or get connected with other resources. Now I can have more time to dedicate to other things that will help me reach my goals."
