General Fund Update

HandUp is excited to announce that we now have the ability to allow a donor to donate directly to your organization's general fund! So if a donor is unsure of which member to donate to they now have the option to donate directly to your organization instead.

If you view your partner page, you will see under your cover photo that there will be a "Donate Now" button. When you click this button it will direct the donor to an area where they can donate. There are no changes to your current general fund, the only two differences are 1) people can now donate to the fund, and 2) the general fund profile is now publicly viewable.

Currently on the back end, your general fund is set up as a "member profile" , and you have the ability to makes changes and edit the page as you wish. If you search for your general fund in your member list and click into it you will have the option to "edit profile". This is where you can make changes to the description, the name of the fund, or the photo displayed. It is very similar to editing your partner page where you described your organization and uploaded a cover photo.

A couple things to keep in mind:
Contributions made to this general fund should still be thought of in terms of 'points', as these donations do not equal cash that can be used for general use purpose. The points contributed to your general fund are solely to be distributed amongst your current HandUp participants at your organizations discretion.
Each time a donation is made to your general fund you will be notified via email and text message to the email and telephone number listed in the "contact info" of the general fund profile. Both forms of contact are optional, and if you do not wish to be notified you can remove one or both forms of contact from your profile.
